Lunch: for some of us, it’s the most exciting part of our day; for others, it can be a disappointment. The Talon decided to unravel those brown paper bags and pop open those customized lunch pales to get a look at what keeps our classmates going throughout the day.

Joseph cheesin’ hard with his favorite source of potassium.

“I try to make sure that there’s a banana in my lunch every day because I really like bananas. There’s this quote by Rascal Flatts, ‘Life is a highway, I want to ride it all night long’ and I think it really captures my sentiments about bananas”. — Joseph Nazareno (’17)

Jake looking less than enthused about his half eaten sandwich eaten by no one other than his girlfriend Ryann Thomison (’17)

“Everyday I make the same thing. A ham and barbecue sandwich; just bread, ham, and barbecue sauce. Usually I try to bring something for break like some crackers or something and then bring something to eat with it at lunch like some chips. Then I like to bring some fruit snacks to clear my breath afterwards. I try to bring good smelling foods.” — Jake Mellor (’17)

Ryann officially patenting her idea of the Grab ‘n Go lunch.

“I usually pick the items that are ‘Grab ‘n Go’. For example, a mandarin orange; no necessary package, a chewy granola bar, a cheese stick, apple sauce, and a fruit nut mix. And sometimes I’ll eat Jake’s sandwich if we eat together. Grab ‘n Go. I rest my case.” — Ryann Thomison (’17)

The one and only Sean Baker commonly known as Bean Shaker, expresses his pure joy and love for salads.

“I usually buy my lunch every Friday or when I forget to make a salad like today. My dad used to make my sandwiches and they were really big, but I’ve recently moved on to salads that I make the night before. I have like a little Tupperware with little forks and knifes packed with a dressing container. I just bring that to school and clean it out that night, ready to use for the next day. I like the taste of salad. It’s satisfying.” — Sean Baker (’17)

Pat, accompanied by his trendy “jorts”, enjoying a delicious apple that might easily be the next best thing in his lunch next to pretzels.

“My everyday lunch is usually a PB&J, pretzels — actually a lot of pretzels –, carrots, peanut butter, celery, and an apple. The main dish is the pretzels. I normally make my own lunch, but sometimes my mom has to make it for me. She’s got the magic touch! Whenever she makes it, it’s just so much better. I honestly would prefer it if my mom made my lunch!” — Pat Barnes (’17)
