The Talon journeyed to East Portal Park to capture the sights, smells, and sounds that manifested on Senior Ditch Day.
The date was the 11th of March, two thousand and sixteen years after the birth of Jesus Christ.
The weather was perfect on this Senior Ditch Day — had the setting been Seattle instead of Sacramento.
What was supposed to be a day of fun, sun , and barbecue turned into a day of doom, gloom, and Netflix for some seniors.
All hope seemed to be lost until a message began circulating through the phones of the senior class. No one is sure where it started, but here is the message:
Fast forward to Friday the 18th — the first day of Spring Break.
The sun is shining. The smell of burgers over-seasoned with Pappy’s Seasoning permeates the air. The sound of DJs Marcus Sheedy (’16) and Beaul Paulsen’s (’16) sick beats brought the usually quiet East Portal Park to life.
What was turning into a senior ditch disaster was quickly turned back into a pleasant day of fun and activities with the ingenuity of the senior class.
The Talon was there to capture the excitement surrounding the event.
