Sophomore Sensation Elias King is on his way to another stellar season with CB basketball.
You probably see Elias King (’18) in the halls rising above the crowds of students, and probably have heard about his skill on the court.
He started playing basketball at Salvation Army when he was about four, but his career took off at Sacred Heart Parish School. During his time there, he led the league in scoring and his team to the final round of the PAL playoffs his 8th grade year.
Last year he began his Christian Brothers court time starting on our varsity team and this year he has taken the lead of our Falcons.
Jake Fuhs (’16) describes the gentle giant and his wonderful skill that he brings to the game that reminds of him of even some pro players that he holds highly.
“He’s a humble guy, kind of a sweetie,” Jake says. “He kind of reminds me of Vlade [Divac] and Dirk [Nowtizki]. He got the moves man — have you seen that unblockable turnaround? It’s like a work of art”
Elias puts a Marauder on a poster.
The sophomore is averaging 28 points and 12 rebounds this season and says it would not be possible if it weren’t for his team always hustling up and down the court and never giving anything less then their all.
“We compete every time we step on the court,” he says. “We play hard every possession and always leave it all on the court”
Elias also enjoys the positive environment that CB creates for him while he is on the court. The spirit and enthusiasm that the fans provide for every game gives him what he needs to push through.
“I love playing basketball at CB because of how much support I have at CB,” he shared. “When I have good games people come up and congratulate me on it. People really care about basketball at CB.”
Elias looks to just play the game he loves. The season moves on for our young Falcon and so much awaits him and the rest of his team this year.
