Thinking of studying for the freshman placement test? Think again.
Your mom drops you off with nothing but a snack and a number two pencil in hand. Your is heart racing before you walk into the place you will go to school for the next four years. As you enter, you see students from all over Sacramento with the same anxious look on their faces.
Sound familiar? We all had to endure the seemingly terrifying Christian Brothers placement test as incoming freshmen.
As future Falcons nervously await the placement test this Saturday, Christian Brothers Director of Admissions Mrs. Kristen McCarthy assures why there is really nothing to worry about for our incoming Class of 2020.
“I don’t recommend preparation because the placement exam helps us in terms of determining the best academic program.”
We all remember wondering before the exam if we should have studied or prepared in any way possible. Mrs McCarthy says that this is not necessary as the admissions office also takes into consideration the student’s past grades behavior.
“The exam is not the only factor we consider when admitting students” she explains.” We just want to see where they are at this point in their academia.”
The placement test takes about four hours and 430 middle schoolers are expected to take the exam this year. Make sure to root on future Falcons tomorrow as they embark on their first step of being a part of the Christian Brothers community.
