CB’s Professional Bragger

After years of dedication, Ms.McCarthy has finally earned her “bragging rights”.

Director of Admissions & Communications Ms. Kristen McCarthy has been a part of the CB staff for almost nine years, but has been tied to the community since she married current co-Dean of Students Mr. Mike McCarthy ’80.

Following her marriage to Mr.McCarthy, she continually heard many complementary things about CB from her husband. Ms. McCarthy, an alum of St. Francis., encouraged her oldest son, Matt, to attend CB.

“I was glad that he decided to give it a chance,” she said contently.

Throughout Matt’s sophomore year, Ms. McCarthy became involved with the fundraising and writing the Case Statement  for the Jack Witry Fieldhouse and the George Cunningham ’40 Performing Arts Center.

“After writing the case statement and was even more crazy about the school, I heard they needed a communications person — and I became the professional bragger,” she says.

Ms. McCarthy was put in charge of all the CB social media handles and also took over the editing of the Connection Magazine. She also focused on taking pictures of every major event on campus and quickly became known as “the photo lady” to many CB students.

Admissions Assistant Ms. Kelly Harrington ’83 has nothing but great things to say about her coworker.

“Ms.McCarthy is amazing! She is a great advocate of the school.”

This past spring, Ms. McCarthy was promoted to Director of Communications and Admissions and with that title comes more responsibility.

Throughout the fall, she has represented CB at various school visits and claims the CB students, “make it so much fun and make my job a lot easier.”

“When you invite kids to join the community, I know they are joining the most amazing student community.”

Ms. McCarthy’s warm smile and enthusiasm for the work she does brings joy to everyone on the campus and she never fails to brightens CB student’s day.
