From innocent country girl to foam fingered menace, Miley Rae Cyrus has been shocking CB students with her recent changes.
Miley Cyrus has been a musical sensation for Christian Brothers students for years now. We all remember how she started with the kid friendly persona of Hannah Montana.
Recently, though, she has recreated her image in a much more controversial way. The Talon went to see how fellow students felt about this drastic change.
“During the Hannah Montana movie she was a total babe,” insightful freshman Joe Macaulay (’17) shares.
Miley’s new image includes a new hair style, from her flowing brown locks to a much shorter edgy platinum blonde ‘do. Fans’ opinion tend to vary on the dramatic hair change, but according to our friend Joe, “she is still hot”.
Miley recently held a concert in Oakland where many members of the CB community got a first hand dose of the #Bangerz experience. Once viewed live, a new found appreciation could be formed for Miley and her willingness to be herself when on stage in front of a judgmental American society.
“I was barely into Hannah Montana when I was younger, and I only started to really like Miley once I went to her concert,” says Brittney Rodriguez (’14).
But not every CB student is as supportive of her drastic changes.
“[The new] Miley is very provocative on stage and has a chicken butt,” Anna Sorensen (’16) says to the Talon.
This opinion of the new Miley being too wild or “provocative” is commonly shared amongst teens and adults alike. However, before such judgements are made, it should be remembered that Miley is a former Disney star trying to become her own artist in a competitive market place.
Perhaps this new behavior is an example of how all of us can find out who we truly are. So rock on Miley.
