Christian Brothers teens take safe driving to a whole new level.

As high schoolers begin to grow up, the face new advantages and opportunities. That means later curfew, dating, and getting a license.

With all these new exciting changes comes responsibility. Especially with driving, One must not only take responsibility for their own life but also other drivers on the road.

The steps to getting a license involve a drivers education class, three behind the wheel lessons, a written test, a permit for half a year, and then finally the license itself. These lessons and classes prepare beginning drivers for a safe driving career.

“Speeding to class in order not to be late has always been an issue for me, but I would rather stay safe than be on time for class.” says senior Daniel Sipes (’13), who does his best to stay safe while driving to school.

“I always remember to buckle my seat belt because it comes second nature to me,” says Alec Stieving (’13). “My mom always taught me to ‘click it or ticket!'”

Texting while driving is also a rising issue when it comes to safe driving. With the growth of touch screen phones people are more convinced they can manage driving and texting at the same time.

The truth is putting one’s life at risk for a text just isn’t worth it. Senior Robert Rubio (’13) says it best.

“Its so tempting to just change a song, or send a quick text, but you just have to focus and wait because taking a chance like that is just too dangerous!”
