Falcon Of The Week: Andre Le

A CB computer wiz finds a new hobby: making films.

Christian Brothers student Andre Le (’13) has built his skill with computers to a level of mastery. He has in his life time built ten fully functional computers.

He uses these smart boxes for a new passion he has picked up: film making.

“Its not the basic capture the image and edit it,” the senior says.

Oh no, his skill and knowledge of computers has provided him with the knowledge to create works of art compared to those on the big screen.

“My interest with computers has provided me more advanced techniques of film making,” Andre says.

From the use of 3D objects, using advanced 3D editing programs, to advanced compositioning, Andre has honed his talents over the years in Mr. Brendan Hogan‘s video production classes. His influence for all his creations have come from all the movies he has watched.

However, Andre’s main influence to his filmmaking passion had started from him receiving his first computer from his uncle five years back.

“From there I expanded off my computer knowledge,” Andre said, adding that he started to use this tool for school. “I use it too guide myself on things I haven’t mastered in class yet.”

Simple enough right? Of course, he uses the computer to its fullest potential to further himself in his passion for film making, his studies and understandings of school subjects, and of course to just have fun with it.

To boot it, he learned it all “from scratch”. We are proud to have Andre has CB’s resident computer whiz and as the Talon‘s Falcon of the Week.
