Many people will be exercising their right to vote today for the 2012 presidential election. KBFT has followed the election up to date and now the day has finally come.
The election has been the talk of campus and a few lucky seniors are old enough to vote in this election.
Dan Lahey (’13) has been looking forward to this day for a while now. He knew from a young age that he will be able to vote in the 2012 election due to his early September birthday.
“It’s exciting, it finally feels like we are growing up,” he says
Fascinated by the this year’s political field, Daniel said “there is no way I would pass up the opportunity to voice my opinion.” The senior credits his father in making him an educated voter.
Lee Berg (’13) isn’t as excited about this election as his classmate Dan, but he still chose to vote.
“I always knew I was going to vote, and now it is finally here,” he said, adding that he feels the act of voting is not anything special, but he does feel good he did it. Both Daniel and Lee voted by absentee mail ballot .
Tonight we will see if we have a new president, Mitt Romney or stick with our current, Barack Obama. No matter the result, it is exciting to know that CB students had a say in deciding who will be our commander-in-chief for the next four years.
