The popular Let Me Tell Ya Tuesdays returns to give you the latest hits on this terrific Tuesday.
Student Pick: The Other Guys directed by Adam McKay
Energetic and charismatic senior Michael Klein (’13) loves watching movies but recently has discovered the best movie on the market.
“The Other Guys is my favorite movie because it was so funny it made me cry,” said the senior.
The Other Guys is about two up and coming police officers who land an opportunity in a high-profile case while following in the footsteps of the toughest and strongest detectives in New York City, Christopher Danson (Dwayne Johnson) and P. K. Highsmith (Samuel L. Jackson) . Throughout, the movie New York city detectives Allen Gamble (Will Ferrell) and Terry Hoitz (Mark Wahlberg) just want their chance in the limelight to make a big arrest and get a medal as well.
“I enjoyed the irony of the two worst cops actually getting the bad guys in the end of the movie,” Michael said.
Michael continued by saying, “My favorite part was when Allen gives Terry a mug that says “Female Body Inspector, and then [Mark] throws it out the window.”
The Other Guys sounds like an intriguing and comical movie to share with friends and/or family.
Staff pick: Hana Tsubaki in East Sacramento.
Religious studies teacher, Sophomore Class Co-Moderator, and Co-Director of Campus Ministry, Mr. Paul Havey (’81) takes us back to his “hit” spot to eat back in the day that still is up and running today in the East Sacramento area.
“I first went there [Hana Tsubaki] with my girlfriend in high school. I have gone there regularly for the last 30 years,” he says.
Hana Tsubaki is located on J St. in East Sacramento and serves moderately priced Japanese fish and tempura. The food and atmosphere are extraordinary and serves as a great place to host birthday dinner and family gatherings.
“Both of my daughters like the sushi. It is where we usually go to eat for my birthday. I have a lot of fond memories of that restaurant,’ said Mr. Havey.
Whether it be a casual meal with friends and family or a special birthday occasion, Hana Tsubaki has a variety of Japanese entrees that will be served with wonderful and cheerful faces.
Talon Pick: The oeuvre of Jesse McCartney
Although, many have not heard seen or heard of Jesse McCartney in a while, Talon Sports Reporter Taylor Neri (’13) describes Jesse as “an inspiration, a person who has always been there for me through his music.”
Jesse McCartney is an American singer-songwriter, actor, and voice actor. McCartney achieved fame in the mid 2000s and several of his hit songs have captured and warmed the hearts of many teenage girls.
“It’s comforting to know that artists from my younger generation will still flourish from time to time,” Taylor says.
Make sure to listen and download Jesse’s hit song, “Beautiful Soul”. It will be one to always remember and cherish.
