As Giovanni Salcedo auditions for the CB fall musical, he prepares himself for his final venture into theater.

Although Giovanni Salcedo (’13) began his participation in Christian Brothers theater because of his love of music, the senior has become a quintessential part of the CB theater community and will be greatly missed when he graduates.

Along with being one of the few male participants in Christian Brothers theater program, Giovanni has brought a new level of skill to acting through his marvelous work in the plays and musicals at Christian Brothers. His favorite of all the plays he has participated in at Christian Brothers was last year’s performance in School House Rock Live in which he played a lead role.

Even with all this skill and experience under his belt, Giovanni remains humble as he auditions for what very well may be the final play of his theater career. He is unsure whether he will even receive a part, telling the Talon “there were a lot of good people auditioning.”

Despite the competition, Giovanni brought a shining attitude to the audition because, stating that though he is sad that this may be his final play, “[I would b] happy just to be a part of it.”

Giovanni, like many Christian Brothers theater participants, has made the conscious decision that not to continue doing theater after high school. However, even after leaving theater, he plans on remaining a part of the theater community through attending Christian Brothers plays in the future and is planning on supporting the new theater.

“Although I won’t be here [to perform],” he said, “[I’m] extremely excited for all the future Falcons performing on the stage.”
