TEAMride is Sacramento’s first spin studio. It is not only a great workout, but also a community of people who call themselves the TEAM. The Talon got a chance to ride alongside some of the employees to see what it’s really like to be apart of the TEAMride family.

TEAMride all started when four sisters, Teresa, Elena, Alicia, and Michelle, (initials that spell out the TEAM in TEAMride) decided to make a change in the Sacramento community through exercise. TEAMride has locations in East Sacramento and Midtown Sacramento. As you drive by a studio, you may see sweaty riders walking out of class with big smiles on their faces as they hug goodbye to their amazing instructor or you may see people running into the studio as they race in at the last minute to get their sweat on.

But what you may not see is what happens behind the scenes to make TEAMride what it really is. I work at TEAMride and have had the opportunity to meet some awesome people who have made me work harder than I knew I possibly could. They have challenged me and given me the best times of my life and unforgettable friends.

I had the chance to sit down with Midtown’s Studio Lead, Alyssa Landeros ’16, and studio crew member, Lindsey Doll ’15 to get a little glimpse of why they chose TEAMride and what it feels like to be a part of this TEAM.

TEAMride offers a 45 minute cycle workout that involves fast beats, loud music, sweat, and a whole lot of fun. It’s a place to let off steam or to meet up with a friend and maybe get dinner together after. It’s a way to build a community and friendship that will last a lifetime.

The East Sacramento studio was built seven years ago and grew so popular they made another studio in Midtown Sacramento with double the amount of bikes. Every class is sold out almost every Saturday and Sunday with 24 bikes filled in East Sacramento and up to 63 in Midtown Sacramento. TEAMride is an empowering environment not only for the riders, but for the crew that makes all the magic happen.

Alyssa has been working for TEAMride for over two years and calls it her home. She was instantly drawn to the family feeling that TEAMride provides and knew she wanted to be a part of that community.

“The energy, community, and environment was so contagious, I couldn’t get enough, so I spent almost every day there,” she said. “Then I was like, ‘wait — why not get paid to be here?’”

As hundreds of riders walk in the door, the studio crew has to be on their toes at all times. They’re constantly running around, assisting riders, and making sure the studio is clean and maintained. Lindsey and Alyssa explain that the job is challenging, but it’s the highlight of their day because of the extraordinary work environment of TEAMride. Lindsey started working in the summer of 2019 and fell in love with her job because it’s so exciting, and the people she is surrounded by are so uplifting and encouraging.

“The owners inspire me to always give 100%,” Lindsey says. “The people I work with make every shift feel like a party and make me laugh like no other.”

Every day is hectic, but there’s so much to look forward to on that drive to the studio for the riders and employees. Each person has their own love for this place. Lindsey says her favorite part is hearing new music and remixes.

“I get to sing and dance around the studio with my co workers/friends! It doesn’t get better than that.”

The studio crew members become almost sisters due to the comfortable and cheerful environment obtained while on the job. Alyssa says there is no other gym or studio in Sacramento that gives you such a positive feeling, physically and mentally.

“I truly feel like I’m apart of something bigger than myself, but in the best way possible,” she says. “This place is exhilarating and it gives you passion and belonging.”

This community creates friendships, and even family. Work does not feel like work — it feels like a safe place. TEAMride inspires and creates a gratifying feeling. Lindsey mentions that the instructors are so inspirational, they give her the chills, and Alyssa says the owners make her feel so important. The sweet riders who bring donuts are just a bonus to all the fun.

Through the strong community, 45 minute exciting workout, and impeccable work space, TEAMride has impacted many lives. To Lindsey and Alyssa, TEAMride is home and being a part of this TEAM means family.
