They’re always watching, they know when you’re sick, they know when you have appointments, and they’re your one way ticket to leaving campus.
From bringing us Schoology updates to welcoming new visitors on campus, Ms. Traci McMullen and Ms. Susanne Pierson in the front office do a lot for our community that often goes unrecognized. Stationed at the front of our campus, the two work diligently every day to contribute to our hard-working community.
Ms. McMullen, who has a child who has graduated CB and one who currently attends as a sophomore, says that her favorite part of the job is working first-hand with students and their families.
“I love being an active part of student’s lives,” she explains. “Getting to know students and their families is the best part of my job.”
Ms. Pierson is also a mother of CB students. Her son graduated in 1997, and her other son is currently a freshman. Working at CB for over 20 years, she says the most interesting part of her job is doing the attendance.
“It’s always the same kids that are tardy every morning” she complains, “I find it hard to believe that (students) were stuck in traffic for the third time in a week when they walk in with their Starbucks cups.”
Next time you are late, try to keep in mind that Pierson and McMullen know your secret. Traffic isn’t that bad, and starbucks can wait until after school! The less readmit slips written, the better. Try to be cognisant of the fact that the two do a lot to keep this school functioning, and that we as students should make their lives easier by being on time.
