Every fall, Starbucks fanatics go crazy over Pumpkin Spice Latte. But what is all the hype about?

Changing leaves. Halloween. Pumpkin Spice Lattes. The wonderful gifts of fall are upon us. The changes of autumn are prevalent throughout the CB campus in what is being worn and consumed, specifically, the Starbucks seasonal classic Pumpkin Spice Lattes.

Pumpkin spice lattes have come back into season once again and the CB community is talking about the seasonal drink.

Mr. Dave Levasseur stands firmly as “pro pumpkin spice” and buys into the seasonal offer.

“I suggest they don’t do it year round because it kind of takes away the special part of the Pumpkin Spice Latte season,” he says.

But there are some students like Masoud Mohaddes (’16) who have never enjoyed the comforting warmth of a pumpkin spice latte and don’t have a particular opinion on the pumpkin spice fad or understand what it’s all about.

“I’ve never had them, I don’t know what they taste like,” he says. “There’s a lot of hype for it, which I don’t get.”

Masoud is not alone — after going around and asking students if they have ever indulged in the drink many said they haven’t. So what makes them so appealing?

Starbucks enthusiast Alec Seiving (’16) gives inside “sip” on the drink and what makes it a fall gem.

“It has enough flavor that I can really taste the pumpkin, and the spice separately, but they come together in a very unique way,” he said. “What I like is that it has an abundance of flavor, but not too much.”

When you indulge in a Pumpkin Spice Latte, you are not just taking in coffee but also the warmth of a fireplace, cozy oversized sweaters, and the feeling of comfort.

Alec urges everyone to entertain their tastebuds and taste the authentic warmth of a Pumpkin Spice Latte. Fall just isn’t the same without a good Pumkpin Spice Latte.
