Freshmen take a look back at what was a memorable fall semester.
Freshman year is something many people take for granted. By the time students are juniors in high school, all they can do is reminisce on the simplicity of their freshman year.
Not having to worry about college applications, SATs, prom dates — freshman year is the good days in comparison
Many freshmen this year are seizing the moment, and have been thoroughly enjoying their experience at CB since the moment they set foot on campus.
“Definitely the dance at lock in [has been my favorite moment” says Emma Thompson(’18). “Right then I knew I made the right choice on where to go to high school.”
The trend of sports at CB have really made an impact on the students, too. A good number of freshmen have also made their presence known on the sports field as well.
A key player on the section runner up soccer team, Dom Maestretti (’18), felt the older players, “Really treated me like one of their own.”
“The season was just a great overall experience,” he says.
Three sport athlete Drew Taylor (’18) described his JV Holy Bowl as an “unbeatable experience.”
Doug McCauley(’18) notes the Varsity men’s Holy Hoops win is, “something very special because I don’t know if I’ll ever see that again.”
Overwhelming at first, freshman year becomes highly underrated throughout the high school experience. The new lockers, huge campus, quirky teachers, can all be a bit much at first.
But once the adjustment period is over, however, the first year of high school can be a great one.
