Just a few of Christian Brothers’ well known siblings around campus share their friendships/rivalries with the Talon.
This year’s senior class has an immense amount of seniors with siblings in the freshman class. Their relationships can vary from being fun-filled to screaming fights within a few hours.
The Talon asked freshman Dominic Maestretti (’18) to describe his relationship with his sister, Madison Maestretti (’15).
“She’s a very loving, compassionate person,” says Dominic. “But at the same time she can be the evil big sister that I know she is.”
Maddie comes right back and says “Oh gosh… It is a crazy but fun relationship. I’m really bossy and he’s really stubborn so that’s where we clash.”

Faye Messner (’15) says that her sister, Annie Messner (’18) is her “partner in crime”.
But Annie added, “well, don’t tell her I said this but Faye’s pretty violent.”
“But I couldn’t have asked for a better big sister,” she says.
Faye confirmed her violence, saying “Annie and I clash heads sometimes, but I am so blessed to have her in my life.”
The McCauley Brothers, James (’15) and Douglas (’18), have a “beautiful, yet fun relationship” they confirm.
“Doug and my relationship is great,” says Jimmy. ” I help him whenever he needs me and I’m always there to pick him up when he’s down.”
“Jimmy needs me in his life,” explains Doug. “I think he’d be pretty lost without me, but there’s never a dull moment with him.”
Best friends Kira McKechnie (’15) and Kade McKechnie (’18) have a very loving bond.
“We have a close relationship with a lot of funny and sarcastic humor,” says the senior. “But at the same time we are very protective of each other.”
“I don’t know how to describe our friendship,” says Kade. “Kira and I are really close, but she can be that controlling big sister that yells at me to leave her alone. She’s the best big sis I could have asked for.”
“Jackson is a great big brother, and we definitely have a strong relationship,” says Eric McMullen (’18).
“At first seeing my little brother on campus was definitely a little strange,” Jackson McMullen (’15) explains, ” but after a few weeks you get used to it, and at this point I don’t mind seeing the little booger around school.”
“Jackson is really nice to me even when I’m not nice to him, I’m glad he puts up with me” says the freshman.
Seeing your sibling around campus can be irritating at times, but the love that these Brothers’ bonds hold will continue to strengthen for years to come.
