Who exactly is the man behind the Glass (Jackson)?

We have all heard some YG or Usher, but do we have a new and upcoming rapper just on this very campus?

Aspiring music artist Doug McCauley (’18), who records under the name Glass Jackson, tells all on exactly who he is and the man behind the album.

“Glass Jackson is a voice. A feeling. An opinion. Glass Jackson is music, to sum it up. Just music,” explains the talented freshman on his pseudonym.

All musicians need a work space or a studio so I asked him where exactly he makes the magic happen.

“I have a studio that I’ve put all my money into,” he says.” From mics, keyboard and guitars — but it’s all worth it.”

So he has the space, the name and the drive so where does he get all his ideas from?

“I have lots of inspirations — they go all across the board,” says the young artist. “Madvillain and Eminem to Weezer and Nirvana. I think people will be able to tell when they listen to the album.”

I could assume that the expectations were very high for this young teenager because he will be posting an album before even taking the SAT.

I was curious what pressure he has put on himself as his album debut approaches.

“You can expect good music,” he says seriously. “11 songs — produced and written by myself.”

Being an up and coming artist in today’s society is hard enough, but balancing school work and extra curriculum activities makes this young musician a special icon around campus. Around the CB community, it is clear that people support this young aspiring artist.

“I expect mellow tones with the underlining subliminal message of originality and creativity,” says true fan Vincent Chandra (’15).

Hearing this inspirational teenager talk about this new album made me curious as to when I can hear the work that he has put all his time and effort into.

EXCLUSIVE: The Talon is very excited to report that the album, along with the hit single “Fun”, will be released Monday afternoon, so go and purchase your very own Glass Jackson album, coming to iTunes soon.
