CB Students are handling upcoming college apps anxious enthusiasm.

The seniors at Christian Brothers have reached the pinnacle of their high-school experience: college applications. It is time for the seniors to take the past three years of high school and put them all on a page to be analyzed by the college of their choice.

All the late nights, the cram sessions, and the panicked PowerSchool checks, have reached their pinnacle.

When asked about the upcoming college app season senior Alec Edelmayer (’15) states “I am nervous but excited because its a new phase in my life.”

Going to collage is an exciting opportunity for any student, but there is a lot of work to be done just to apply.

There is no summer break for Jack McHale (’15) with tons of college planning homework,

“I did all the summer homework assigned and I had to write three different essays for the various colleges I’m applying to.”

At Christian Brothers the students are not left to face this potentially overwhelming process alone, with the aid of college counselors this feat can become a series of small tasks.

“The counselors were tons of help,” Daniel Pearson (’15) shares, “I would have procrastinated, but the counselors make sure you’re always working so I already have stuff ready for apps.”

Counselor Melissa McClellen informs student how to prepare for college applications

“The best way to prepare is to complete the resume on family connection and the biggest thing is to not procrastinate because the application cycles have a limited amount of time and if you procrastinate it becomes way more stressful.”

The seniors of Christian Brothers approach college app season nervous, scared, but prepared thanks to the counseling staff of CB.
