Our CB Football team has the motivation and determination to excel this season and return to the playoffs.

Falcon football fever is in full swing for the 2014 season. Fans and players have high expectations for what this team has in store this year.

“We are all optimistic about this season, and we have a lot of kids who are stepping up as leaders,” says coach Mr. Evan Boylan. “We have an exceptional offense and everything it takes to make it to playoffs this year.”

Last week against River City High School, our offense put 56 points on the scoreboard, kicking off the season with a big “W”. Scoring eight touchdowns in the preseason opener gives the boys the confidence they need and the momentum to hit the ground running.

On the other side of the ball, the CB defense held River City to one touchdown and Jamarri Jackson (’17) had a pick six, which helped contribute to our offense’s 56 point win.

After losing key players due to graduation from last year, our new crew of seniors have had to step up as leaders and take on the new responsibilities of their roles on and off the field.

Co-captain Kellen Ralph ‘(15), talks about who he foresees leading the Falcons this season.

“I believe that there are a lot of strong leaders on our team this year,” Kellen says. “Our left guard, Kyle Cherry (’15), is a great leader and captain, and always pushes the team to work harder in practice and games.”

Through this leadership, enthusiasm, and school spirit, Cherry’s overwhelming energy exudes the type of confidence that will give this team the boost they need to achieve success and reach their goals.

Ralph also boasts about their star quarterback, Chris “the Swede” Guillen (’15).

“I think Chris Guillen will be a leader through the way he plays,” Kellen explains. “He never really says much on the field, but he always leaves everything on the field, and shows the younger players on the team what it means to be a true Christian Brothers player.”

Chris and the other Falcons have high hopes for this upcoming season, which continues with a game this Friday at Cosumnes River College versus Laguna Creek followed by Holy Bowl at Hughes Stadium.
