Is your main source of entertainment ruining your future?
With it’s easy accessibility and seemingly endless selection, Netflix has become one of the biggest distractions for Christian Brothers students.
“I mainly watch Netflix on the weekends because it can take up a lot of time,” explains history teacher Ms. Cheryl Flaherty “but I don’t think student do the same and they spend too much time on Netflix instead of doing work.”
“Netflix affects my schoolwork for sure,” says Jalen Yip (15’) “I spend about an hour on Netflix daily.” says Jalen Yip (15’)
With the heavy workload of the average CB student, Netflix can be a nice tool to relax but, the line between relaxation and procrastination is a thin one.
Junior Joshua Snyder (15’) is a fan of the on demand video service.
“It’s great,” he exclaims. “You can watch whatever you want, but I watch like 2 hours a day.”
Once school is over the hours left in the day are limited and that time can be easily sucked up by the shows on Netflix.
“Netflix was always a temptation but now with the iPads the option of watching Netflix is always an option so it now harder than ever to focus on homework.” states Daniel Pearson (15’)
