A Midsummer Night’s Dream Is A Scream, Baby

The CB production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream is psychedelically funky and you should get with it and see it, baby!

One of William Shakespeare’s most famous plays, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, is now playing at New Helvetia Theatre through November 22-24, 2013. This is a groovy opportunity to go and see Christian Brothers’ artistic side.

The play takes place in the 1960s which gives a very groovy vibe through the costume choices, set design, and lighting.

Allie Lian (’14) rocks the stage playing Titania. Her cute, fun, and spunky personality makes for the perfect performance. Oberon, the fairy king and wife to Titania, played by Dylan Santana (’14), blew the doors off with his performance.

The love couples of the night included Garrick Sigl (’15) as Demetrius, Michael Angeles (’17) as Lysander, Marcela Cuomo (’15) as Hermia and Maddy Mason (’16) as Helena give a brilliant performance. Garrick Sigi was hilarious throughout the whole show as the brooding Demetrius.

Another phenomenal actor that rocked the house with his funny, snappy comments throughout the play was Ian Ferrell (’17) who played Bottom.

The whole cast was out of this world including great tech and stage managing from Maura Tomassetti (’15), Dannielle Olson (’14) and Kimberly Taketa (’14).

This will be the last play held in the New Helvetia Theater which is a groovy place for this performance. The theater is located in mid-town and you can find some great eats before the performance! Burgers and Brews and Fox and Goose are right near by to get a quick dinner before going inside. There are also snacks such as chips, drinks and candy being sold for a dollar.
