Find out about the that furry creatures are taking CB by storm.

Here at Christian Brothers, students and faculty alike seem to have a deep affection, though some may call it an obsession, for a certain cuddly creature: cats.

Yes, cats.

If you haven’t caught on already, cats are a pretty big deal and the Talon went to find out why people have such an affinity for their fellow feline friends.

For proud cat lover Holly Martin (’14), there is nothing she doesn’t love about cats. “Cats are awesome!” she exclaims. In fact, her love for cats is so strong that she feels that “[she] was probably a cat in a past life.”

Cat owner Kristina Dovichi (’14) says that “[cats] are [just] so cute,” adding that she especially loves their little paws and fluffy fur.

Owner of three cats, fellow falcon Elena Groen (’14) explains to the Talon what she loves most about these adorable animals. “I love how cuddly they are [and] they’re just so much fun to cuddle with,” she says with a smile as she thinks about her feline friends.

Ms. D’Arcy’s cats Phantom and Saber

For cat lover Ms. Mary Jane D’Arcy ’02, it is not just all about their cute features, explaining that she loves cats as pets because they require very little maintenance.

“[I like how] cats can survive on their own [and] I [also] like them because they’re fun and like to play [with you],” the math teacher says.

However, cats are more than just pets. They’re also a fashion statement and seem to be a part of this year’s latest trends.

According to cat enthusiast Hannah Ahern (’14), “cats are such a hot item” right now.

“I mean I’ve got like five cat shirts, two cat sweaters, a cat ring, and three cats,” she jokingly admits.

Many other cat lovers would agree with Hannah, including fellow cat owner and frequent purchaser of cat merchandise Elena Groen.

“[Cats] are definitely starting to become a trend,” Elena explains. “I mean you see cat stuff everywhere.”

From their adorable little paws to their cute pink noses, and not to mention the fact that make the perfect fashion statement, it’s hard not to fall in love with these fluffy creatures. After all, everybody wants to be cat.
