Christian Brothers’ Open House draws hundreds of prospective students each year and this year was no exception.
There were hundreds of new faces, new families, and student ambassadors wandering around the Christian Brothers campus at the 2013 CB Open House. New students of every level came to explore possible opportunities at Christian Brothers.
Christian Brothers prides itself not only on our academic excellence, but also on our leadership, athletics, and visual, media, and performing art programs.
All over campus, clubs, activities, and sports showed off what they had to offer to the incoming freshmen and parents. Our CB choir and band also had live performances while students were exploring the school.
An incoming freshman from Holy Spirit Parish School, Miles Magaletti, explains his reasoning for choosing Christian Brothers.
“Christian Brothers is the most diverse choice compared to Jesuit and St. Francis,” Miles says. “I hear they have an awesome four year art program, and I took a ceramics class here and really enjoyed it. I’m looking forward to what the art program has to offer me, and I’m excited to work with the iPads.”
A group of 8th graders told the Talon why they were looking forward to attending Christian Brothers.
“Everyone here is so kind and welcoming,” says Annaclare Nelson. “It seems like you are all just a big family and happy community and I’m excited to be a part of that next year.”
“I’m excited for all of the good sports here,” exclaims Presley Fresques. ” There is a really good athletic program, and I’m looking forward to trying out for the volleyball team.”
Christian Brothers’ athletics give all athletes an opportunity to reach their full potential, to grow as an athlete in the CB community, and to possibly play their sport in college.
Parents were equally excited about all that Christian Brothers offers to its students.
“We have friends who have sent their children here and had a great experience,” says parent Mrs. Kristen King. “My daughter is interested in the fantastic academics and athletics that CB has to offer, and I believe she is really excited to branch out and meet new people and make new friends.”
CB gives every student chances through extra-curricular activities to not only learn more about themselves, but have a well rounded high school experience.
