Traveling the World is an experience everyone should have, and some of our CB community have been able to experience the wonders of the world.

Student Pick: Kate Houston (’13). a former Talon staff member, loves to share her wonderful stories of her trip to England with anyone willing to listen. Last spring she traveled alongside Ms. Mary Bowers with a group of CB students to the Magical country of England. They went to London, Stratford-upon-Avon, visited the Royal Shakespeare Company and even toured through Westminster Abbey!

“My favorite part of the trip was London because is was such a new and urban city but it also has historic landmarks in random places,” Kate says. “It was such a different environment — I loved it.”

Teacher Pick: Ms. Marian Shackel also loves to travel the world. She has visited places like Italy, Switzerland, France, Germany, Norway, Denmark and many other countries.

When asked what her favorite place was she replied, “I can’t pick just one! They all are wonderful in their own way”.

She isn’t done yet either — the English teacher plans on visiting many other places later on in her life.

Talon Staff Pick: Talon sports reporter Ben Taylor (’14) has traveled London, Copenhagen, New York and Washington D.C. just to name a few. His favorite place was Copenhagen because of the feel of the city was so amazing and the people were really nice.

“I feel more cultured from my traveling experiences,” he says. “I learned a lot about different foods and celebrations that other countries do.”
