KBFT’s executive producers discuss their departure from the show and preview what is next for CB’s successful student-run TV station.

Whether they are producing packages, directing, or reporting, Alex Daly (’13) and Brianna Pressey (’13) are always on top of their game and demand respect and attention from the viewing audience.

After their initial year on KBFT, they were invited back by Video Production Teacher Mr. Brendan Hogan ’95 to be executive producers of the show.

“The show was redesigned in season 10,” Alex says. “We were the first two producers to produce a show centered around that format, so [Mr. Hogan] thought it was appropriate, given that there was such a shift in the way that KBFT was producing programs, that the two producers who started the format should continue and train the next team.”

Though these two have gone above and beyond and done much more than any Christian Brothers student has ever done for the show, it has all clearly been a labor of love as they care for the program and want to see it thrive.

After over three semesters of KBFT broadcasting, the two are leaving the show to work on Senior Video.

“We wanted to be a part of Senior Video because we missed our class.”  says Brianna Pressey, “We enjoyed the crew from season 10 and we wanted to be with them for our last semester.”

There is no need to worry about KBFT, however, it is in capable hands because Daly and Pressey have thoroughly trained the crew of Season 11 and will leave skilled students like Emma Bradford (‘14), Jackson Long (‘14), and Parker Kaye (‘14) to oversee the Season’s successful completion.

Neither has had an easy time letting go of the show.

“Writing the scripts and obsessing over the show [has] became a really big part of my life.” Brianna says. “I already miss it.”

All of Christian Brothers waits with eager anticipation to see what becomes of these two gifted students. We wish them luck with the rest of their Christian Brothers Video career, and their promising future endeavors.
