Get Footloose At Open Mic Night

Find out what to expect from the upcoming Open Mic Night.

This coming Open Mic Night on Friday night is going to rock your socks off.

The theme of this Open Mic is Footloose, a 1980’s movie that was recently remade, and described by Ms. Chiapa as having a “fun, party-filled atmosphere”.

Although the Open Mic Club does not plan on incorporating the plot-line of this movie classic, they hope to capture the atmosphere portrayed in the movie; and there is no better way to do this than by decorating accordingly, and putting on amazing, talented performances.

“One exciting thing about this open mic is that two of the international students will be performing” says Ms. Chiapa.

Foreign exchange student Vanessa Wang (’14) will be performing a popular Chinese pop song, and junior Cody Upton (’14), will be demonstrating his amazing guitar skills. There are many other phenomenal acts, including a few freshman acts, and a ukulele player.

Ms. Chiapa is also stoked for the hype the emcees are going to bring. The Talon’s very own Charlie Passarell (’13) and Camille Peters (’13) are hosting the event, so one can be reassured that it’s going to be a fun, party-filled night.
