The senior football players and cheerleaders were recognized and honored for their hard work during their four years at CB.

This past Saturday night was the much anticipated Senior Night for CB’s Varsity football and cheerleading squads

The night started off with the senior football players and family members having their name announced as they walked through a tunnel of non football players, cheerleaders, and coaches.

This same process happened for the senior cheerleaders at halftime before their usual halftime performance. Te night was sentimental for the seniors as for some of them, it is the last football game of their careers.

“I have played football for seven years and this night gave closure to that.” says football player Austin Guillen (‘13).

“I have been injured for two years and to actually be able to play on my senior night was so surreal.” says Avante Yarber (‘13), who was playing for the first time this season after suffering an arm injury over the sumer.

“I have played football since the seventh grade and it is my life. Everyone was very supportive and positive about my comeback which meant the world to me”

The night was equally special for the Senior cheerleaders.

“For cheer we got to stand on special senior boxes and for all our stunts seniors were the main flyers as well as in the front of the dance for half time” says Alexa Bacher (‘13).

Though the night was full of excitement the seniors will miss the Friday Night Lights.

“I will miss the camaraderie and being with my brothers, they will never be replaced,” Avante says.

“And of course I will miss Nate Ashby (’13).”

The seniors have been the leaders this season and it is time to hand that leadership down to the future seniors for next year.

“I recommend having a good time and enjoying every moment” Austin says.

“Be appreciative you never know what will happen and play like it is the last game you will ever play” added Avante.

“Stick with it” recommends Alexa.

The seniors had a successful season as well as Senior Night and Saturday was a great way to end one of the last games of their careers.
