Open Mic Night is a student-run, artistically themed filled performance. The show is hosted by three CB students Camille Peters (’13), Charlie Passarell (’13), and Dylan Santana (’14). The hosts introduce 20 to 25 students [that] perform in the shows. The acts range from singing and dancing, to monologues and stand-up comedy.
The first Open Mic of the year is this Friday at 7 P.M. in the gym. The theme for this event is Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. The gym will be decorated with candy and colors and Mr. Wonka himself might make an appearance too.
Besides the three hosts, there are many students behind-the-scenes that work very hard to put on a great show. These students are a part of the Open Mic Night Club.
The club meets during every long lunch in room 407 to discuss themes for shows as well as executing and advertising the performances.
Ms. Natalia Chiapa is the moderator of the club and keeps the meetings running smoothly as students prepare for the next performance. This year there are 15 to 20 students participating in Open Mic Night Club.
This is a great club that helps students support their peers and get involved with the CB arts community. Tickets for Open Mic Night are only $1, so make sure to go see an entertaining performance you will never forget.
