See why Mr. Macintosh’s room has become one of the most bustling places on campus.

Narnia is a fabled land created by author C.S. Lewis. But how does it relate to Christian Brothers art teacher Mr. Findlay Macintosh? Mr. Mac is the club director of the Anime Club, which is just one of the many activities that takes place in his room — commonly referred to as Narnia.

How did the art room earn such a peculiar name? Narnia is known as a land of wonder and mystery and the Anime Club’s base of operations, room 305, is something of a mystery to most Christian Brothers students.

Mr. Mac states that “it may have started as a less than flattering reference” to room 305 “however the kids who’ve hung out here sort of embraced it as an unintended compliment.”

Many creative personalities hang out in Narnia.

Students who spend their breaks and lunches socializing in Narnia have used the room’s name to welcome other unique personalities.

Narnia is a place where “you can be as different as you want to be here and you’re not looked at as weird” says Jacquelyn Olson (‘14). Room 305 is a comfort zone for those kids who want to express themselves as individuals.

The mystery of room 305 has humble beginnings.

“Kids just started to hang out here too have lunch to be with their friends,” says Mr. Mac, “it just sorta became a hangout place.”

Fully equipped with video games, art supplies, and board games, Narnia is a great place for people who want to have fun and make new friends.
