Let us remember…that we are in the Holy presence of God.

In our busy lives we often forget the presence of God in our everyday journey. At times, we take it for granted that He is with us during our most triumphant and even turbulent times of the day.

Director of the Guidance Department, Mr. Kirk Purdy describes his relationship with God as “strong and everlasting.” The CB counselor is deeply inspired by his favorite Bible passage –Matthew 11:28-20.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

After leading Kairos 43 this past week, Mr. Purdy reflects and says that this passage is “the perfect quote to summarize the beauty and revelation of Kairos.”

“[The passage] relates to my life and helps me understand that [although] there are heavy burdens,” he said. “We aren’t alone. I feel secure because I know God will help me.”

We all carry heavy burdens, but if we give ourselves up to something higher, we can find peace and understanding.
