The magic of Hogwarts is about to infiltrate CB.

With Homecoming coming up just around the corner, one of the most important questions that arises is “What is the theme?”.

Well, for all those enthusiastic wizard fans out there, you will be glad to know that the general theme for this year’s CB Homecoming is Harry Potter.

According to the ASB moderator Ms.Rose Ann Holmes, “[the theme] is mainly in the brainstorming stage”.

The dance itself will most likely be based off of the Yule Ball from the fourth Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Ms.Holmes and other ASB members are also hoping to have each class represent a different house and have that class decorate their hallway according to which house they represent. They even want teachers getting involved by having them dress up as their favorite teacher from the Harry Potter movies.

Laura Kalmanson (’14), a member of the junior class council, thinks that this year’s theme is “really good” adding that “the decorations are going to be fun [and] the spirit days during homecoming week are going to be exciting”.

As far as spirit week goes, there will still be the normal “Stop Light Day” and “Twin Day”, although this year it will be called “Wizardry Alike Twin Day”. There will also be a “Harry Potter Character Day” where students can dress up as their favorite characters from the Harry potter movies.

This year we will also have a liturgical dress day during Homecoming week. To keep in tune with the Homecoming theme, that day will be “Hogwarts House Color Day” where students can wear a polo shirt that matches their house colors.

Although Ms.Holmes and the rest of the ASB members are still working out the final details, she says that with a theme like Harry Potter the “possibilities are endless [and] imagination is abound”.
