Men’s Water Polo

The boys on the co-defending Capital Valley Conference champion Christian Brother varsity Water Polo squad are back at it again and off to a fast start. Lead by a strong senior class including starting goalie Mac Jarvis ’13 and top scorer Carter Hafter ’13, this group of water polo studs are destined for a big year.

When asked what the team expectations for league are, Hafter replied with a firm “undefeated”.

An undefeated league season would be very fitting for this team that is already 3-0 and ranked number one in the CVC league — a year after finishing tied for first. This year’s team has also dominated their preseason schedule, winning all their games with the exception of the rigorous Woodcreek Invitational.

Just a couple of reasons why the team carries high goals into the playoffs.

“We’re going to sections,” Mac says confidently. “We’ve never made it past the first round, but we’re hoping to go a little bit farther this year.”

The team benefits from a strong senior class— five of the seven starters are seniors. Ty Patrick ’13, Eric Graham ’13Drew Morris ’13, Trevor Bergash ’13–along with Jarvis and Hafter– have played water polo together all four years at CB and have turned the program into a winning one.

But nothing will make a defining mark more on their CB water polo careers than a section title.

Women’s Water Polo

The future is definitely bright for the women’s water polo team at Christian Brothers. Lead by the lone senior on the squad, Nicole Skow ’13, this team of 20 girls is young, with a majority of players who are freshmen and sophomores.

Skow leads the team with 13 of 24 goals and plays field player, utility, attack, and hole set defender for the Lady Falcons.

Sophomores Carleigh Osen ’15 and Tia Eliopoulos ’15 along with freshmen Ally Blake ’16 shine bright as they will be forces to reckon with as they gain experience playing on the varsity level.

Come support our varsity water polo teams as they take on league rival Bella Vista Thursday, October 4th at 4:00 PM at the Sam Pannell Center on Meadowview Road.
