Find out what the Dolce Fuoco string ensemble has to bring this upcoming year.

“Talented, family, and passionate” are the three words Mr. Travis Maslen had to describe the Christian Brothers string ensemble Dolce Fuoco, which means “sweet fire” in Italian.

For those of you who do not know, a string ensemble is a group of musicians consisting of only violins, violas, cellos, or double basses.

The Dolce Fuoco group of students come from the string ensemble class offered at Christian Brothers.

“I took the more experienced players and… created an ensemble [that] can go out and do other events and play some upper level music,” Mr. Maslen said.

The group plays at different venues and has performances throughout the year to showcase their amazing talents.

Just this past Sunday, Dolce Fuoco had the privilege of performing at the Heringer Estates, a vineyard in nearby Clarksburg, for a fundraiser benefiting the Clarksburg library. They have also played at the assisted living homes and even downtown during Christmas time.

This group truly displays the talent CB has to offer. According to Mr. Maslen, their hope this year is “to find some good meaningful gigs where we just have a good time”.

This group is very unique in the way that they all have true passion for their music.

“I think their one common threat is that they all want to do upper level music, and they’re willing to work at it to sound good,” Mr. Maslen said.

If you want to hear for yourself, you can find Dolce Fuoco at the upcoming CB Open House, on October 7th at Christian Brothers from 11am until 2pm.
