The Christian Brothers Falcons continued their dominance in the early part of the 2012 season with a 45-6 defeat of the McClatchy Lions — the CB’s third straight win to start the year.

The Falcons’ offense rolled to the easy victory behind the leadership of their senior quarterback Caden Noon (’13), striking early and often as the Lions simply could not hold back CB’s potent offense.

Brothers moved the chains with relative ease in the first and second quarters, resulting in a score on virtually every one of their possessions in the first half. Noon stayed cool in the pocket as he picked apart the Lion’s secondary and the ground game moved through the CKM defense like a hot knife through butter.

CB’s defense played another fantastic and tough two halves of football, allowing only one score the entire game as they consistently overwhelmed the offensive line to force rushed throws from the McClatchy quarterback.

Head Coach George Petrissans remarked to the Talon after the game that he was pleased with the Falcons’ fast, physical and disciplined football.  He also noted that the team, especially the defense, played very focused and determined in the second half.

The Falcons will face a much tougher test next weekend against Jesuit at the much-anticipated Holy Bowl. Although The 3-0 Falcons enter the game with confidence, there is still work to be done before the showdown with the Marauders.

“We have a lot of things that we have to polish and tighten up,” Assistant Coach Dan Carmazzi observed. “This is one of Jesuit’s best teams in the decade so we got our work cut out for us.”
