Find out what went down at the Freshmen Lock-In for the Class of ’16.

Every year, Ms. Rose Ann Holmes, the Christian Brothers Student Activities Director, looks forward to the Freshmen Lock-in, where she has a chance to meet the incoming freshman on the Friday before they entire our Christian Brothers community. She describes the event as officially as “joyous” and “energetic” affair.

This year Ms. Holmes was thoroughly impressed with the way the student leaders organized and made the freshman feel welcomed with intriguing and exciting games and activities. The students, comprised of Student Council volunteers and members of the student class, conducted games, activities, skits and dances that introduced the life of a Christian Brothers student.

Christian Brothers’ senior Rob Belme (’13), who was one of the Lock-in student leaders described his night as “successful” and “a little blast from the past,” saying how the night reminded him of his Lock-in experience three years ago and how time has passed throughout his time at CB.

A total of 251 incoming freshman, over 96% of the students in the Class of 2016, closed the evening as they watched the sunrise out in the back parking lot of CB — a metaphor for the start of the high school carers.
